Free Elections and What You Can Do

Know the process. Know your rights
Learn how voting works—and help your friends and family understand it too. Remember: if you’re voting by mail, allow 5–7 days to ensure your ballot is postmarked on time, or better yet, drop it off at a polling place or official drop box.

Check your registration
Make sure your registration is current and accurate. After you check your registration you can sign up for ballot tracking so you can follow your vote every step of the way.

Speak up against intimidation
If you see or experience voter intimidation, report it immediately:

  • California Secretary of State: 800-345-8683
  • Fresno County Elections Office: 559-600-8683

Push back on misinformation
False information spreads fast—but so can the truth. Be ready to correct it, share accurate resources, and help others stay informed. And be prepared—this may include rallies, organizing, and community action.

Get involved directly
Consider volunteering as a nonpartisan election observer. This is one of the most powerful ways to protect the integrity of our elections.
